Midas-NDT have received a major inspection contract to carry out corrosion mapping of steel materials. An immersion tank at Midas-NDT has been used to develop a process for high resolution inspection of stainless steel plate of 1mm thickness. High frequency ultrasonics is used to acquire ultrasonic thickness data to a resolution of 0.05mm and a c-scan presentation is used to analyse areas of potential corrosion. |
