ISAMPE Annual General Meeting
A representative of Midas-NDT was a guest at the twenty third Annual General Meeting of the Indian Society for Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (ISAMPE). Midas-NDT engineers have been working in India for over twenty years and currently support four systems located in Bangalore and New Delhi.
The Indian Society for Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering (ISAMPE) was founded in September 1985 with the aim of bringing together Scientists, Engineers, Academics, Industrialists and Private Entrepreneurs of the Materials and Processing community to a common platform to promote the materials and process technology of the country. The twenty third AGM of ISAMPE was held on 12th June 2009 at the National Aerospace Laboratories in Bangalore.

The Chief Guest, Shri P.S.Subramanyam, Director ADA Bangalore, delivered the keynote address on The Role of Composites in the Light Combat Aircraft (Tejas) Programme of ADA. The Vijay Zaveri Memorial Lecture was delivered by Shri Pramod Rastogi, Chief Manager, CMD, HAL Bangalore on Trends in Composite Manufacturing.

Dr S Sridhara Murthy chaired the technical session with the theme on Advances in Processing Technologies and three eminent personalities delivered the talks. Dr Satish V Kailas, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering Indian Institute of Science, on Friction Stir Welding, Mr. A Udayakumar, Scientist, Materials Science Division, National Aerospace Laboratories on Monolithic and Composite based Ceramic Products for Aerospace Applications and Mr M S Velpari, Chief Manager (Development), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bangalore on An Overview of Advanced Manufacturing Processes in Forging, Casting and Powder Metallurgy Components.
